Mknod is now implemented by mount, mount2 and cmount, so exercise it from
the shared vfstest suite: create a regular file (S_IFREG) through the
mounted path and check it reads back as a 0-byte regular file. This is the
path the kernel NFS server drives when a client creates a file over an
exported mount.
Before this there was no shared coverage for Mknod; it now runs against
each backend via RunTests.

With cmd/mount2, reading a directory more than once returned the correct
entries on the first read but nothing on subsequent reads. Plain `ls`
triggers this: it does lseek(fd, 0, SEEK_SET) to rewind the directory
before a second getdents.
go-fuse v2.9.0 rewinds a directory stream by calling Seekdir on the
FileSeekdirer interface. dirStream did not implement it, so go-fuse
returned ENOTSUP and produced an empty listing on every read after the
first.
This implements Seekdir on dirStream: a rewind to offset 0 resets the
stream to the start, restoring correct listings on re-read. Non-zero
offsets are uncommon for in-memory listings and still return ENOTSUP,
matching go-fuse's own default. A compile-time interface assertion is
added so signature drift on future go-fuse updates is caught at build
time.
Before: second and subsequent reads of a directory returned no entries.
After: directories list correctly on every read.

Add a ctx parameter to vfs.New() so callers can pass in context
carrying ConfigInfo and FilterInfo. The context is stripped of
cancellation but config and filter values are preserved into a fresh
background context.
Add a ctx field to the VFS struct, initialized in New() from the
existing cancellable context. Propagate this through the cache
subsystem hierarchy.
This ensures proper context cancellation when a VFS shuts down, rather
than using disconnected context.TODO() or context.Background() calls
throughout and paves the way for VFS to have its own config.
This commit modernizes Go usage. This was done with:
go run golang.org/x/tools/gopls/internal/analysis/modernize/cmd/modernize@latest -fix -test ./...
Then files needed to be `go fmt`ed and a few comments needed to be
restored.
The modernizations include replacing
- if/else conditional assignment by a call to the built-in min or max functions added in go1.21
- sort.Slice(x, func(i, j int) bool) { return s[i] < s[j] } by a call to slices.Sort(s), added in go1.21
- interface{} by the 'any' type added in go1.18
- append([]T(nil), s...) by slices.Clone(s) or slices.Concat(s), added in go1.21
- loop around an m[k]=v map update by a call to one of the Collect, Copy, Clone, or Insert functions from the maps package, added in go1.21
- []byte(fmt.Sprintf...) by fmt.Appendf(nil, ...), added in go1.19
- append(s[:i], s[i+1]...) by slices.Delete(s, i, i+1), added in go1.21
- a 3-clause for i := 0; i < n; i++ {} loop by for i := range n {}, added in go1.22
This changes log statements from log to fs package, which is required for --use-json-log
to properly make log output in JSON format. The recently added custom linting rule,
handled by ruleguard via gocritic via golangci-lint, warns about these and suggests
the alternative. Fixing was therefore basically running "golangci-lint run --fix",
although some manual fixup of mainly imports are necessary following that.
This also
- move in use options (Opt) from vfsflags to vfscommon
- change os.FileMode to vfscommon.FileMode in parameters
- rework vfscommon.FileMode and add tests
Summary:
In cases where cmount is not available in macOS, we alias nfsmount to mount command and transparently start the NFS server and mount it to the target dir.
The NFS server is started on localhost on a random port so it is reasonably secure.
Test Plan:
```
go run rclone.go mount --http-url https://beta.rclone.org :http: nfs-test
```
Added mount tests:
```
go test ./cmd/nfsmount
```
billy defines a common file system interface that is used in multiple go packages.
vfs.Handle implements billy.File mostly, only two methods needed to be added to
make it compliant.
An interface check is added as well.
This is a preliminary work for adding serve nfs command.
Before this change we ran the tests and the mount in the same process.
This could cause deadlocks and often did, and made the mount tests
very unreliable.
This fixes the problem by running the mount in a seperate process and
commanding it via a pipe over stdin/stdout.
In this commit
f4c40bf79d mount: add --devname to set the device name sent to FUSE for mount display
The --devname parameter was added. However it was soon noticed that
attempting to mount via the rc gave this error:
mount helper error: fusermount: unknown option 'fsname'
mount FAILED: fusermount: exit status 1
This was because the DeviceName (and VolumeName) parameter was never
being initialised when the mount was called via the rc.
The fix for this was to refactor the rc interface so it called the
same Mount method as the command line mount which initialised the
DeviceName and VolumeName parameters properly.
This also fixes the cmd/mount tests which were breaking in the same
way but since they aren't normally run on the CI we didn't notice.
Fixes#6044
Add --network-mode option to activate mounting as network drive without having to set volume prefix.
Add support for automatic drive letter assignment (not specific to network drive mounting).
Allow full network share unc path in --volname, which will also implicitely activate network drive mounting.
Allow full network share unc path as mountpoint, which will also implicitely activate network drive mounting, and the specified path will be used as volume prefix and the remote will be mounted on an automatically assigned drive letter instead.
The tests are now run for the mount commands and for the plain VFS.
This makes the tests much easier to debug when running with a VFS than
through a mount.
