Nick Craig-Wood b5a81dab76 drive, googlephotos: warn in config wizard before using the shared client_id #9580
rclone's shared Google Drive and Google Photos client_id is being
retired and will stop working during 2026. When creating a new remote
that would use it, the config wizard now warns the user and asks the
user to enter their own client_id and secret instead. Service account
and environment auth are unaffected as they don't use the shared
client_id.

hyusapandNick Craig-Wood 2a5e0b28c9 docs: fix googlephotos custom client_id instructions
The Google Photos custom client_id documentation was incomplete - it
only mentioned changing the scopes but did not mention that you need
to enable the "Photos Library API" instead of the "Google Drive API"
in step 3 of the referenced Google Drive instructions.

This fixes the documentation to clearly state both differences from
the Google Drive setup:
- Enable "Photos Library API" instead of "Google Drive API"
- Use the Google Photos specific scopes

albertony 0f3aa17fb6 build: improve backend docs autogenerated marker line
Replace custom rem hugo shortcode template with HTML comment. HTML comments are now
allowed in Hugo without enabling unsafe HTML parsing.

Improve the text in the comment: Remove unnecessary quoting, and avoid impression that
make backenddocs has to be run and results committed, since we have a lint check which
will then report error because we want to prevent manual changes in autogenerated sections.

Disable the markdownlint rule line-length on the autogenerated marker line.

Make the autogenerated marker detection a bit more robust.

See #8942 for more details.

Germán CasaresandNick Craig-Wood d4fd93e7f3 googlephotos: update read only and read write scopes to meet Google's requirements.
As part of changes to the Google Photos APIs the scopes rclone used
for accessing Google photos have been removed.

This commit replaces the scopes with updated ones.

These aren't as powerful as the old scopes - this means rclone will
only be able to download photos it uploaded from March 31, 2025.

To use these new scopes do `rclone reconnect yourgooglephotosremote:`

Fixes #8434

The config question "Use auto config?" confused many users and lead to
recurring forum posts from users that were unaware that they were using
a remote or headless machine.

This commit makes the question and possible options more descriptive
and precise.

This commit also adds references to the guide on remote setup in the
documentation of backends using oauth as primary authentication.

edwardxmlandGitHub 19a8b66cee docs: update rclone about docs
Create a full loop of documentation for rclone about, backends overview
and individual backend pages.

Discussion:
https://github.com/rclone/rclone/pull/4774 relates

Previously pull was requested, in part, under ref
https://github.com/rclone/rclone/pull/4801

Notes:
Introduce a tentative draft see-link format the end of sections to try
rather than lots of in-para links.

Update about.go incl link to list of backends not supporting about.

In list of backends not supporting about, include link to about command
reference.

I appreciate there may be decisions to make going forward about whether
command links should be code formatted, and using proper pretty url
links, but I have fudged that for now.

Update backend pages that do not support about with wording used
previously for ftp - it is in passive voice but I can live with it. (my
own wording and fault). The note is applied to a limitations section. If
one does not already exist it is created (even if there are other
limitations with their own sections)

Nick Craig-Wood 0baafb158f mount: allow files of unkown size to be read properly
Before this change, files of unknown size (eg Google Docs) would
appear in file listings with 0 size and would only allow 0 bytes to be
read.

This change sets the direct_io flag in the FUSE return which bypasses
the cache for these files. This means that they can be read properly.

This is compatible with some, but not all applications.
